Amazon Ads Data Policy

Draft under review. This page is not legal advice and may change before launch. Last updated: 11 October 2026.
Status
SellerGrid's Amazon Ads connection is built and waits for Amazon's approval of our access to the Amazon Ads API. Until Amazon approves it, no Amazon Ads data is collected from anyone. This policy is published now so you can see exactly how the connection will work, and it applies from the day it opens.

1. What we read

Only after the seller approves on Amazon's own page, and only from the seller's own advertising account:

  • The advertising profiles of the account (profile number, country, currency, time zone).
  • Daily advertising performance reports at product (ASIN or SKU) and campaign level: campaign number and name, impressions, clicks, cost, attributed sales and orders.
  • When the connection opens we load up to the last 90 days, then update daily, including the corrections Amazon makes to recent days.

2. What we never do

  • We never create, change, pause or delete campaigns, budgets, bids, keywords or ads. SellerGrid only reads. Amazon names its permission for this API "campaign management"; our software calls only the profile list and the reporting functions.
  • We do not read other advertisers' data, and the reports contain no shopper names or personal details.

3. How we use it

To show the seller their own advertising cost next to the profit of each product, and to count advertising in their profit. Amazon Ads data is combined only with the same seller's own sales and costs inside their own workspace.

  • It is never sold or rented, never used to advertise, never shared with other sellers, agencies, advertisers or data brokers, and never used to profile shoppers.
  • It is not sent to the AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT) that a seller may connect: advertising fields are removed from everything those assistants can see.
  • It is not exported to third-party tools and not used to train third-party models.

4. Authorization and access keys

  • The seller approves on Amazon's own page. We never see the Amazon password.
  • The request is bound to the browser and user that started it, can be used once and expires.
  • The access key Amazon issues is stored encrypted inside the application (AES-256-GCM) on top of disk encryption, is never shown in the product or in logs, and is used only to fetch that seller's reports.
  • Each customer's workspace is separate; staff see an account only with the customer's permission, read-only and logged.

5. Retention, deletion and disconnecting

  • Disconnecting the marketplace in Settings deletes the Amazon Ads access key at once, and nothing more is fetched. The seller can also remove SellerGrid's access in their Amazon Ads account.
  • Reports already imported stay with the account's other records while the account exists. An inactive account is deleted permanently 6 months after it becomes inactive; deletion on request is done within 30 days.
  • We keep Amazon Ads data only as long as it is needed to show the seller their own figures.

6. Who else is involved

Only the providers needed to run the service, under their own terms: our host (Amazon Web Services) and the e-mail provider for account e-mails. They do not receive advertising reports for their own use.

7. Rules we follow

We follow Amazon's Ads API and partner policies, together with Amazon's Acceptable Use Policy and Data Protection Policy for Selling Partner data. If Amazon changes a rule or asks us to stop, we comply.

8. Incidents

If an incident affects Amazon Ads data, we will report it to Amazon within 24 hours of detection and to affected customers without undue delay.
